Official Scouting

All Australian Basketball membership provides coaches access to Australian basketball players who are serious about playing college basketball and or going pro. We are new with fresh data that we take from the AABL, National events and on demand. This site offers detailed scouting reports on children from reputable coaches and scouts. The coaches / scouts portal allows coaches to search for players via position, intake year, height, GPA and other variables. Coaches will be able to view the players profile, which includes their video links, scouting reports and a messaging function.

This competition is usually played throughout the entire year and has teams from Under12 through to Under 20.
  • School Teams: Interschool sports competitions are held over approximately 6 months where athletes from domestic/representative and higher levels all compete for their school and have a chance to play in the National High Schools Championships which are usually held in December each year.

State / Territory Development Programs

These programs monitor identified athletes and provide a development framework to assist fundamental and advanced skill acquisition.

Centre of Excellence (CoE)

Scholarship positions to Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence residential program in Canberra, are typically offered to the 12 most outstanding  junior athletes in the country for both men’s and women’s programs. The COE has a daily elite training environment with most of these athletes heading to NCAA DI schools if they choose the college pathway.

Australian Development Camps / Junior National Teams

Australian Development Camps are typically held twice a year and have approximately 30 athletes invited to attend. These athletes are evaluated and selected from their performances in their respective state teams at the National Championships, and often include most of the COE athletes. These camps are also utilised as a mechanism to help select the U/17 and U/19 national teams that compete in their  respective World Championships.

All Australian Basketball League

All Australian Basketball League (AABL) is a league set up for elite athletes aged 16 - 20 years. The league provides coaches that have played or coached in the NBA, NBL or at a national level. The rules are a hybrid between the US and FIBA, that allows athletes to play hard and fast and showcase their individual skills. Players are selected into teams via a draft after performing in a combine. Players are ranked and AAB scouting reports are made on each of the athletes. This league represents some of Australia's best talent and provides opportunities for athletes to be identified where they may have otherwise been lost in the club or representative systems. The league also aims to prepare athletes for college and or professional leagues.
